hey, i'm imaad.
i work on applied ai research, building and improving machine learning systems, mostly across agriculture and healthcare. i'm currently a product & ai research engineer @STARlab Capital.
this is my home on the web. Starting in 2026, I'll write about machine learning, research ideas, systems I build, and papers or concepts that make me think twice.
right now i'm working on:
- airrigate β as a project researcher and designing pipelines for carbon and water credit analytics, built in partnership with EY CCaSS.
- quant research
- personal project β cross-modality medical image synthesis (MRIβCT)
previously, I worked on biomedical AI as part of the vivistar team, building medical image segmentation and oncology-focused models from scratch, and making them more efficient, scalable, and interpretable.
i like building by tweaking and extending existing architectures rather than treating models as black boxes. that's pretty much how i think as a researcher.
